  1.                          F-PROT introduction

  3. The DOS version of the F-PROT anti-virus package consists of the following
  4. files:
  5.  
  6.         F-PROT.EXE    The main program (DOS version).
  7.         SIGN.DEF      DOS/Windows virus search/disinfection data.
  8.         SIGN2.DEF     Trojan and Java/Script/BAT/Other virus search data.
  9.         MACRO.DEF     Word/Excel virus search/disinfection data.
  10.         NOMACRO.DEF   An "empty" version of MACRO.DEF.       
  11.         ENGLISH.TX0   An English message file.
  12.         *.TXT         Some documentation files, including this one.
  13.         *.ASC         PGP signature files.

  16.                            Running F-PROT

  18. If the F-PROT program is run in interactive mode, you get a screen which 
  19. shows the available functions.  You can use the arrow keys to move around
  20. the screen, and press <ENTER> when you wnat to select an action.

  24.                         Information
  25.                         Quit

  27. When [Scan] is selected, you get a menu where you can specify where to
  28. search for viruses, and what to do when a virus is found.  See the file
  29. SCAN.TXT for further information.

  31. When [Options] is selected, you get a menu where you can enable or disable
  32. various options.  To change an option, move the red line over it, using
  33. the arrow keys and press <ENTER>.

  35. When [Information] is selected you get a list of several subjects you can
  36. select to get more detailed information about the program.
  37.  
  38. Finally, selecting [Quit] will terminate the program.
